I'm a freelance journalist based in Lawrence, KS. Before moving back to my home state, I lived in New York where I held editorial positions at Supercall.com, Wine Enthusiast, Liquor.com, SHAPE, and Women's Health. My work has also appeared in Eater, Thrillist, Vinepair, and Women's Health, among others.  

 

I've served as a spirits judge for the American Craft Spirits Association and was a contributor to The Oxford Companion to Spirits and Cocktails, published in 2021. ​​

 

In my spare time I'm also an enthusiastic, self-taught sewist and knitter who enjoys finding the beauty in perfectly imperfect handmade items.  I first learned to machine and hand sew around the age of eight, and now I use these skills to alter, mend, and make garments from scratch. My long-term goal is to create a fully handmade wardrobe full of natural fibers (linen! wool!), and move away from fast-fashion toward more sustainable options.​
